![]() Do you know? I asked a simple question, one that you'll see further down in the post, but a difficult question to answer. This is an update on my latest fundraiser/book signing that was held Saturday, October 4th at Joe’s Place in Greenville, SC. The day couldn’t have been more beautiful, fluffy white clouds floating by in the bluest sky and the temperature in the 70’s. Joe’s Place is located on Main Street, a picturesque street, lined with boutiques shops and unique dining. Joe’s Place was named for the owner's brother, who passed away a few years ago and had a love for books and wine. It is a charming bookstore with old-fashion bookshelves full of used books of all genres, along with a few new books from local authors. ••• Keep reading more "Do You Know" click read more below ![]() The vintage wooden bar with antique carvings was beautiful and gave you a feeling of being in a quaint old pub. I did enjoyed a glass of wine and a gourmet cup of coffee during my stay (decaf, of course or my tremors would have gone wild). I was pleased to see so many people visiting the bookstore, shopping for real books not just eBooks. The bookstore stayed busy all afternoon and I was able to talk to many people. Thus brings me to my title of this post. ![]() Do you know? Please answer these questions. What is a McMuffin? Have you heard of texting? What is a latte? What is a blog? What is eBook? What is Karaoke? What is a Burger King Whopper? Have you heard of diabetes? Have you heard of MS or Multiple Sclerosis? Have you heard of Parkinson's? Well, I know these questions are silly and I could go on and on asking them, of course everyone's answer was yes. However, I asked the same people that I talked to, one simple question. Do you know what Essential Tremor or Dystonia is? The answer I received from everyone was typical, NO. Not one person had heard of Essential Tremor or Dystonia. So, I began my spiel of what Essential Tremor & Dystonia are and I explained to everyone that was the reason I had started the Diann Shaddox Foundation, committed to bringing awareness to all movement disorders. I handed out fliers and cards to everyone hoping that they would read them and tell others about ET & Dystonia. At least the people who were in Joe’s Place Saturday will know the answer if they see anyone with tremors. We have to keep working on bringing awareness to all movement disorders and to the world, and DSF is committed to Shaking up the World. Please join me on my journey with DSF, we can use all the help we can get. If you'd like some free fliers, telling about ET, Dystonia & Parkinson's, to hand out please contact me. www.diannshaddoxfoundation.org & https://www.facebook.com/diannshaddoxfoundation?ref=hl 10/6/2014 03:03:42 am
My husband has et, and people need to learn about it. most people think he needs a drink. I have to fill all papers out for him.

I understand how difficult it is., I have problems filling out papers and even signing my books. I'm working many hours to bring awareness. It was sad to hear so many people tell me they'd never heard about ET, especially since I've had it for over thirty years. The Diann Shaddox Foundation will make a difference. Comments are closed.
