A Visit Home for One Day

                                  Going Home  

I had so much fun this last April doing a book signing for ‘A Faded Cottage’ in my hometown of Nashville, AR. I grew up in Nashville, a small town in southwest Arkansas, a rural town, where Main Street has diagonal parking, old brick buildings containing a bank, old fashion pharmacy, and even a Dime Store. The small town of  Nashville is surrounded by farms and rolling countryside

and is a modest, but quaint southern town where football, Nashville Scrappers, still reigns supreme.

My book signing was held in a charming store, Tollett’s Gifts, the store has sat downtown on Main Street since I was a child. 

They say you can’t go home, but I have to disagree, I did for one day.

That day I visited with family and friends many that I hadn’t seen in years.  

Stories of growing up in Nashville flowed that beautiful spring day in the old store. Stories I someday hope to write about in the near future, like playing out in the country,  swinging on vines  across clear flowing creeks, hot summer evenings catching fireflies,

riding bikes all over the small town and swimming in creeks and lakes.

A small town that brought my imagination to life and I hope to visit again very soon.
